Let's Have a Look-See

Well, the sun peaked out Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, but quickly went back behind the clouds.   I was thrilled to wake up to sun on Friday.  Of course it was cold...like 4 degrees, but just lovely. With those cold temperatures there is no snow melting...but it's good to see the blue sky. You gotra love the kids playing soccer in the snow.   Hoping for a no snow or ice week. 

We have had a week. First came the frozen fog and hoar frost. It was pretty, but sooooo cold. Then the roads ices up. Not my thing. And I don't think the sun has been seen for a week. Oh yeah, it snowed making yet another mess of the roads.  I never had to put my own kids in snowcloths, but I have put my kiddos in school in snow cloths everyday this week. Zip them up, find them gloves, put their hoods on over their hats. It's  getting old.  On top of all of that fun we have an outbreak of the Coronas at school. It really looks like we will shut down this week.  So I dream of sun. Literally.  I dream of warm sunny days and then wake in the seventh level of Hell and chant: I will be a snowbird.  I will be a snowbird.  One week ago we had sun. My mom turned 88 this week. We went back to work this week. There is plenty of snow on the ground but the roads are clear. It is cold, so not much melting.  Our school has not been amune to staffing shortages. It was a tough week. There are not enough subs and even though we do not have a Covid outbreak, there are other bugs out there causing illness.  The other big stress factor comes from the copy machines.  They have been down since November.  The company who we contract through sends us a young guy who watches YouTube videos to try and fix them. It has gone from bad, to crazy,  to worse. As in all the copiers were down , to they all worked, but only if you used tray 2, to the new one works- sometimes and only with tray 2- one has parts sitting on top of it and the other two are jammed up. It is extremely frustrating and when you add that to lack of staff for interventions and rotation classes it gets to be not fun.  I'm not complaining, just explaining.  We are happy to be in...

Are you tired of snow pictures?   Me too. We had more snow and blowing snow this week. I ended up staying home for the week.  I left the house on Thursday for lunch with my buddies.  The roads were still a mess and I was happy that the plow came down our street late Thrusday afternoon.  We went to see the Eagle Tree yesterday.  There are six of them.  Always amazing to see a bald eagle.  I'm looking forward to going to work tomorrow.  It'll be cold and there is still plenty of snow on the ground, but it will be good to see the littles and get them back on the road to learning how to read. 

We had a trip planned, but due to bad roads we stayed home. It has snowed more  And more And more I have taken over driveway duty as Wes is still recovering from shoulder surgery. Please notice the pink coat. It is the coat I wear when the high is 20 degrees. Here is a rare blue sky.  As we end the year 2021 I am grateful for this year. I grew up 10 miles from here and remember very few Christmas's that were white. But since we've been back we have them almost every year.  We had a White Christmas.  Callie really wanted to go on a snow walk. It wasn't icy so we walked to the park.  I very much enjoyed having my youngest three home.  We had a good time. Scott played a few songs. I played sleigh bells. We shared re some good food and they all helped clean up.  And played games, did puzzles and watched Christmas movies. Don't ask. I loved having them here. They lifted my spirits and made me laugh. The highlight of the holiday was rreceiving a package from the bookstore of Kansas University.  It had a couple of items. A couple of years ago, our school district decided to end the semester at Christmas vacation.  It ment that we start earlier and that all testing and report cards are due the last day before the break. The week before the break has always been stressful with crazy, excited kids, Santa letters, and parent gifts.  When this day is over, it takes a day to decompress.  The kids are with their parents now and so am I.  We are visiting Yuba City. This is probably the last time we will  Stay in this house. My parents are getting ready to move in with my sister.  When we moved here in 1977 I was a mess. I missed my friends and I missed Idaho. We stayed in a hotel and we looked for houses.  We found one in town and there was this one. I liked this house.
