In the Green

After figuring out how to make Kindergarten work while in the yellow stage, our Superintendent moved us to Green. Ugg, not sure where that came from, but he is a non believer, so pretending that there is no harm in catching the virus works for him.

I'm not ready to change much about the way we are doing things. We still have cases in our country and we in our district. I'm taking this move as extremely temporary and am not willing to change everything, a couple of things, but not everything.

Life is as crazy right now.

Water Bottles

I didn't know that I could be so attached to a water bottle. This one is covered with vacation stickers.

I loved the memories and the way the ice came out when I drank it. I assumed that it would last forever,  but it didn't.
I'm still working in a Pandemic. We haven't had any new cases since the first week.

I feel like I have lost a sense of reality about what is going on in the world. I had a couple of parents who were afraid to send them at first and then a couple got sick, but this week, they were all there.
I even let them cut and paste. Makes for a happy classroom.

Funerals

I went to a funeral on Saturday. Its the first one since March. These were my thoughts:

I wish I could have been at the services of the friends I have lost this summer.

How did we not bury my father this summer?

It felt good to feel the Spirit , so quiet and reassuring of God's love and grace.

The power of human touch is powerful.

With the help of a high school student,  I got my books ready for students...Covid style. They were so happy, which made me happy. Oh the power of literary.
It's why I do what I do.

Home

I found it hard to be back at work. I missed being home. That is just not going to happen right now.
My biggest problem at work is complete lack of Social Distancing. The little people didn't disappoint.  They grabbed and drank from the wrong water bottles. Someone licked someone else's face. They each have a box of toys and Math games. Of course, they took what they wanted out of other people's boxes, played with a friend or just swapped boxes.
They were also very happy to be in school.  They love being with other kids and they thrive in the structure of a school setting.

Todd and his crew flew to Utah for Katelyn's sisters wedding reception. It was good to see them. Since they were here. Peter was baptized.

We were happy to be there and that we didn't have to make the trip to North Carolina.
Wes ordained Todd to the office of a High Priest, as Todd was called into a Bishopric.  I know, he is already busy.
He is a good dad and a good person.

I am happy to be home today, and tomorrow.  More fun and games on Tuesday.
