Grand Tetons

We meet all of our kids but Richard and Ashley in the Tetons.

Also did a quick trip to Yellowstone.

For this grandma, it was heavenly.

My children were great with each other and the kids.  The kids had a great time hanging out together.

We hiked Jenny Lake.

Played in the lake.

Enjoyed the historical Mormon Row.

Had good food and played games.
The nights were cold and the stars were so amazing it made getting up to go to the bathroom worth it

I appreciate my kids for their efforts to get there and be together.

Now we are hopefully home for the Summer.

Visiting my Parents

What an experience it is to watch my dad go through the end of life process. He has been in an Assisted Living Facility since April. He has moved to the Skilled Nursing section as he has continued without progress.

My mom goes up to visit every day...for fifteen minutes. That is a process in and of itself.  A slow shuffle to the car, getting in the car. Getting out at the Facility and getting in the wheel chair. Checking in. Fifteen minutes with my dad. You never know what you will get from my dad. He always recognizes her. He has no idea where he is, what he has done, or if he has eaten. Then it is back to the car.

I hate going there. I have said my good-byes. It is the hardest thing to do. I don't want to be old.

This is how I want to remember them. Before the stroke and pneumonia that took away his memory.  I understand what is going on, but I don't really like it.

I'm grateful to be able to go to California and help when I can. I see the hand of the Lord in this process. I feel His Peace. I know God lives a waits for us to come home.

So Good to be Home

I was so happy to be home this week. The flowers were beautiful. I had lunch with friends, went to the denist, got a hair cut and had a movie night with Anne. I also had a few packages delivered.

We are back in California staying with my mom. I brought lots of projects...I wouldn't want to be board. It's hard to visit my dad. He doesn't know where he is and I always wonder if this is the last time I will see him. It is never ending.

Of all the roads we've been on this year, this one may be my favorite.

Highway 20 when you get off I-80. There is some major road construction going on. I hope they don't take away the pretty.

This is a picture I took from the car in Wyomng on our way home from our last trip. Just hang on, life gets better.

Happy Travels.
