Atlanta

When World Cup tickets went on sale in November I asked Wes and he didn't respond. So I asked Laura, Keith's mother in law, and she responded immediately.  Since we both had to fly, we picked Atlanta. She got some reasonable tickets and booked a trip.  We visited the Coke Museum and had a delightful time.  The Planetarium.  It was incredible.  It is extremely well put together and has some interesting inhabitants.  Dragon fish... We went to the Martin Luther King National Historic Monument.  It was peaceful.  I wish we had time for the tour of his house. We also visited the Human Rights Museum. Then it was off to see the Botanical garden. With the heat and humidity, things really grow.  Made a new friend.  They have an Orchid house. The colors are beautiful.  Another win for us....

They are not all Winners

It's been a week. Windy... Cranky men living in my house....Crazy allergies...you name it. I love the sky on my walks. Too windy most days, but got in a couple. I found this little bird egg and it made my heart happy.  The lady who planted this had moved, but it is a pretty reminder of her.  I finally had a night up myself. Wes went to Girls Camp for the night and Scott had an appointment in Twin. I took advantage and had brownies and milk for dinner. I had been to lunch and a movie with a friend so it was perfect. I'm leaving town in the morning and hope to have a great week.  Love, peace and happiness.... God bless us all....

The Carolina Coast

We went to the beautiful Oak Island.  It has lovely sandy beaches.  The skies were lovely. There were different birds than live on the West Coast.  Honestly, this pier was well built and well used.  The water was nice but the tide was too rough for me. I thought I could do it but it took me down.  The best part of this experience was the amount of shells at every beach we visited.  I would guess millions.  I follow Brenda Torrey Photography on Facebook and have learned a great deal about what kind of shells are there.   We went out early one morning. I was looking for turtle tracks, which I didn't see but I did see the Turtle ladies from Oak Island Sea Turtle Protection Program .  I love to listen as they post the baby turtles emerging from their nests and making their way towards the sea.  It wasn't crowded, the ...

Wedding

Image
Our son Richard, was married this weekend in North Carolina.  It took place in a beautiful park near Winston Salem and Wes officiated. They are planning on a celebration where everyone is invited next Spring.  We also had a brunch afterwards. It was sweet.  I had hoped that Richard would take some time to be alone after his extremely difficult marriage with Ashley. But I've come to realize that he will never be alone. Ivy was one of his roommates after he left Ashley. I have felt in my heart that my mom helped them find each other. I'm not sure of how their relationship transpired, but they seem happy. They work as a team. They are very considerate of each other. They are fiscally responsible. They both love their families. They both see the same therapist...that's another story.  I'm extremely happy for them. Richard has been though so much with his first marriage. It was in a beautiful temple, where they were sealed t...
