Washington DC

 I have always wanted to go and visit Washington DC.

We meet up with Todd and his family.

Our first trip was to the Zoo.

We had a great time and saw most of the animals.

We had a picnic lunch.

Callie and I in our 'First visit to the Zoo"  buttons.

Our next visit was to The National Space and Air Museum in Virginia.

There is a space shuttle in there.

It was amazing.

As I was walking around, looking at historic planes it was a very spiritual experience.

 It helped to have the company of many veterans who were also there.

 We also had a birthday celebration.

The next couple of days were filled with  monuments.

 picnics on the mall,

 War memorials, 

- the Korean War-

When you are six you want to see the White House...

This is as close as we got to it.

  Arlington National Cemetery.

Simply a beautiful place.

The botanical gardens,

This is a cocoa tree

and Museums.

We finally made it to the other end of the mall.  

I kept saying that this was a once in a lifetime trip,

but I might go back.

If more grand kids would join me.

We certainly didn't see it all.

I hate it when life gets too crazy.

There doesn't seem to be time for the little things.

And let's face it,

I enjoy the little things.

Here is a picture of the Twin Falls Temple from about a month ago.

The sky was beautiful that evening.

I literally thank the heavens when the days get longer

and the snow melts away.

I have been watching my daffodils and tulips push up.

And then yesterday, I found this one.

It has a blossom on it.

There is so much hope in nature.
