Eagles in Southern Idaho

Callie's friend, who is a boy, came to visit last weekend.
There is not a lot to do this time of year,

so, I decided to take him to see some eagles.

They were hanging out.
It always amazes me to see them.

I saw this sign on the field.

I have been by this field in the summer,
but I have no idea what they plant.

Now I want to check it out.

No Snow is Good Snow

I was so happy that all the snow had melted.
But we had a surprise on Tuesday.
Un-forecasted snow!

It was a mess.
But it stayed on the trees for a few days,
and they plowed the streets ---- a miracle ---
And it was pretty.

I have exposed duct work in my sewing room.
I knew we needed to re-tape it when it became the warmest room in the house.

Thanks Wes,
It adds to the creativity.

Vera Munsee

Tonight I found this picture.
It has my grandmother in it.
This is only the 4th picture I have ever found
and she is looking down.
Ugggggggg

At any rate, it is in beautiful condition,
and I will take what I can get.

Cookies

While the kids were here,
I found myself in Grandma Jail.
For giving the little guy....
fruit snacks and juice.
Really?????
I can do so much worse than that.

So we made cookies.
They were going home the next day.

Turns out he likes chocolate chips.
A lot.
He tried to have some for breakfast the next day.

And here is the classic 3 generation picture.
Eating cookies.
Someone already ate his,
while his son savored every chocolate chip.

I miss all the little people.
Very quiet around here.

Aunt Verna

On the 29th, my mom's aunt passed away.
Verna Elizabeth Anderson Richards.
She would have been 96 on the 17th of January.

She and my mother were very close.
I have found several pictures of her in my grandmothers photos.

It was a little weird listening to them talk about her.
She liked to watch game shows,
did word searches,
watched sports on tv at night,
and loved her cookies and candy.
Where they talking about her or my mom?

She loved growing flowers and gardens.
She made all her grandchildren quilts,
and loved to have family come and visit.
Where they talking about me or her?

I appreciate all of her kind comments through the years.
She was a good women,
who was loved by her family.
In the end, what more could we ask for?

Post Christmas Fun

The little people arrived after Christmas.
The Frozen dresses were a hit.

Let's face it,
All girls want to be a princess.

She likes her cape more than her dress.

We had plenty of music,

 including a rousing rendition of
Once There was  a Snowman.

I thoroughly enjoyed having my Christmas stuff
picked over and examined by the little people.

White Christmas

Merry Christmas!
I may be late, but please understand,
my house has been full of
cute little children and hungry big kids.

We started the holiday with a pinterest experiment.

Then we made our children happy with presents.
Hey, whatever works.

Callie received Molly once again.
I guess being a college graduate doesn't change
the love between a girl and her doll with a new head.

And, it snowed on Christmas Eve.

It is still out there,
actually, there is more out there.

Not sure how I feel about the snow.
