After a week of Parent Teacher Conferences and a Youth Auction, Wes and I had a tricky weekend planned.
In November we bought tickets to Les Miss in Salt Lake. We had always planned that it would be a day trip. We had tickets to the matinee and drove down in the morning.
We got some delicious food
Took a walk in some lovely weather. Really, will ever learn how to take a selfie?
And enjoyed the show.
We were home in time for a good nights rest.
We got up the next morning and prepared to go to Kuna to Betty's blessing. I had to fix some food to help Callie. I was grateful that they had a late church.
Betty was looking pretty in her blessing dress.
All of the Grandma's and Grandpa's were there.
It is a blessing to have her so close.
Later that day Callie posted about her middle name. They named her Barbara after Ty's first wife who died the day before Callie was born. As a matter of fact, she died when I was at the hospital in Stockton, being pumped full of pitocin to induce my labor. I went home and later that night I received a phone call that Barb had been killed in a car accident on the Salt Flats. Callie came a few hours later.
People would say they probably saw each other on that path from earth to heaven and heaven to earth. Then someone said, "No unclean thing can enter into heaven." But you know what? Neither one of them were in heaven; not right then. I like to think that they did see each other. That they knew each other. That Callie told Barb she would watch over Hannah, and Barb said she would watch over Betty. We don't know, but to be on the safe side, I like to think that Barb helped Callie come to me.
It's been more than 30 years and I still cry thinking about it. I think I always will. So Betty Barbara, maybe you knew her too.
Spring brings hope.....
Families make me happy.....
God is good....
