Christmas Blessings

So we have been waiting for Callie to have a baby for thirty two years. Then she was late, with an appointment to induce on the 26th
We planned on going to Kuna for Christmas dinner and taking the dog home with us. On Christmas morning, she was having contractions! We were going to have a Christmas baby.

So Wes and I drove to Kuna to get the dog and leave our part of dinner. When we got there she was no longer having contractions but she was having trouble sitting. I knew something was still going on.

We took our meat and the dog and went home. She called within the hour and her water had broke. They were off to the hospital.

I spent my time texting with Spencer. The baby was in  occiput poustier position. She has doing exercises trying to turn her around. I mean, I delivered Todd that way and we both made it. Come to think of it, they did have to use a suction cup to get him out.

Well, nothing really worked that night. Everything they did to try to turn the baby or increase labor made the babies heart rate drop. By 7 am, she was only at 7 cm. They decided to do a C-section. Let me tell, when your daughter has a baby it's different.

Well, finally, after 32 years and 14 hours of labor, Betty Barbara arrived.

Betty is after Spencer's grandma and Barbara for my sister in law, who died in a car accident on the same day I started having labor with her.

We went to see her.

Richard was smitten. And Scott was there too.

Wes always gets hold of the baby.

We are so happy she is here and healthy. Mom and baby are doing great.

Definitely an emotional process.

Blessing from heaven.
