90th Birthday Celebration
We had a celebration for my dad's 90th birthday. I was just praying that he would make it to 90.
Sharing
Last week we had my dad's 90th birthday party. I had been going through pictures as I was ready to pass off some of the things I had to my brother and found some pictures I had never seen before. I took them over Sunday morning and asked him if he knew anybody in them. As his state of mind is often in the past, he was very helpful and because it was early in the morning, he had some very sweet comments. I just wanted to write them down.
That's me on the small horse.
I handed him this one and said how cute it was.
He said, That's me, When my mother was alive, she made me cute.
I also commented on how cute this one was.
He smiled and said, that's me and my cousin Ralph Edwards.
We were hellions. The dog is mine; I can't remember his name.
He had a name though.
I asked him why he had a grumpy face in this one and he told me it was because he didn't have his overalls on.
That's my dad. I was like, he's so young.
People always thing my dad was old, but he was young. He was good looking and had a lot of girl friends (after his mother died).
We can only assume that dad is the baby. He was an only child.
He took one look at this and said,
That's my mother.
He says he has no memories of her, but there was no doubt.
It was a sweet little processes that brought me joy.
Oregon
We went a road trip to California through Oregon. Yes, the gss prices were high, but the need to get out of Jerome was higher.
Discovery and Starfish
Sisters Oregon.
Let's face it, I'm never going to go to the outdoor quilt show here. There are just too many people. I enjoyed visiting the quilt Mecca without all the people.
Crater Lake
I found it disappointing but the pictures are stunning.
Lots of snow and all hiking paths were closed.
Way off the road. It was impromptu and we had no internet. I was hoping we wouldn't need help.
This Hike did not disappoint.
I learned that Guant Sequoias grow in Oregon forests. So cool to see them.
I love tiny pincones.

Grateful
I intentionally looked for beauty this week.
I was grateful to get the temple this week.
Peace.
Truth be told, I don't really love Iris, but when they bloom their colors are so brilliant. It's hard not to be grateful for them.
Every Summer I try to have a goal. This Summer, like the last few I still want to take a walk. In addition, I want to look for the beauty in those walks and feel grateful for its existence.
