Around the House

So when we went to Glacier, Rich killed the plant that lived here.
I went to Wal*mart and picked up these on the clearance table.
I hate to say it, but they look better then the previous owners...
but don't tell Richard.

And speaking of Rich, what is this?
I found this why cleaning today ? ? ? ?

And here is a plant that made it through the winter.
I have been watering it all summer.
Finally, it blooms.

Sings of Fall

As if on queue, I walked outside this morning and found that my Willow Tree was shedding.

And then there was the homecoming parade.

Wendell has been working on their marching band.
They sounded good.

This years parade was 100% better than last years.

Here is something you would never see in California.

You know you live in a hick town when your float is pulled by a John Deer.

I loved that the football players walked by and gave all the kids a  5

Bring on the fall days.

Our's is not to Question Why

We were able to go a funeral of a family member this week.
Funerals are always a time that make me reflect and be grateful for the life I have had.
After the service, Wes said he would like a picture with his brothers that were there.
So when they were gathered together for someone elses photo, I shot this.
I am sorry, but it made me smile.

So it wasn't the best photo, but this one is better.

On our way home, we decided to stop at Brigham City to go through the open house.
It is a beautiful temple, a place that also causes reflection and gratitude.
Not to mention feelings of peace and love.

My Job

I work in Migrant Education, just in case you wondered, and I have been working on a project this week.  In a nut shell, a migrant student is one that has moved to another school district and whose parent/s work in a temporary agriculture job.  Believe me, that is a nut shell.
So my project has been to copy old files, some as old as 1978, and alphabetize and then alphabetize chronologically.  That is not interesting, what is interesting is that 30 years ago, there were as many names like, Smith or Wilson, as there were Garcia and Cortes.
I think it is interesting to see the evolution of Migrant farm workers.  That is what is on my mind today.

Ray Christians Ranch

So we went on a little Idaho Adventure.
My dad's cousin...Mary... has been inviting me to come visit her at "The Ranch" since we moved here.
We decided to go...I wrote down the directions...we googled them...it came up as Ray Christians Ranch.

Here is Ray Christian...also my dad's cousin...his wife and Mary.
They were so very nice to us and shared a wealth of family stories.

We tried to find this place in the dark... not really a great idea...but when we turned into this gate, I knew where we were.  This is where we had family reunions... Empey Day... as a child.

Here is where we used to camp.  There was plenty of pop and ice cream.
Here is the bridge. No frog was safe that weekend.

And the weekend would not have been complete without all the kids climbing this hill.

We didn't climb it, but I know he could have.

I enjoyed this little adventure, as I renewed my memories of a happy time in my life.
Wes and Rich also enjoyed it.  It is a very peaceful place right smack in the middle of nowhere.
