The Walking Path

Here is the town of Jerome. In the background, if you know where to look
are the Owyhee Mountains.
Okay, so we do not have green trees yet, but we are soooooo close.


Almost ready to plant. We should have 6 inch corn by June.


These are all over town.


And here are some very red tulips. They are also enjoying the weather.




They have a bike path here in Jerome. You defiantly see more walkers than bikers on it. And let me tell you, that when you do see a walker, runner or biker, a salutation is expected, as in, "Good Morning" "Hello" or a nod of the head. I love this path. I took pictures a month ago, but they never made it here. This walk is ever changing. I start as soon as it is above 45ish and walk until it is under 45ish. That gives me about 8 months. My biggest problem is I won't walk when it is windy, which takes out most of the days in the spring-- so I use the path for more like 6 months. Today, was a beautiful day.

If you hadn't said so, I would have thought you were here in minnesota. Things are still pretty brown here and when we go walking people are always greeting you. Great blog. Love the prom shots. Prom is early may for my daughter who is a senior. Glad I surfed by.~verna

Greetings are very good. I wish there were more of that on the bike/walking path in Provo Canyon.

Harvest Blessings

I love the end of Summer with its beautiful harvests.  The smell of soup that fills the kitchen. I spent most of yesterday making tomato soup for grilled cheese and tomato soup dinners this Winter.  I'm so grateful that my neighbor gifted me the tomatoes and fresh onions were available at the Farmers Market. This simple recipe is 100% nutrious and delicious.  I freeze the soup in 3 cup portions. It's what Wes uses to cook dinner once a week. I did think that it was a lot of work so that Wes could think he cooked dinner, more than once yesterday.  Love living in Idaho.... Harvest Blessings.... Good day...

The Summer of $50 Picnic

I love a picnic, but this year has been pricey. Some of these picnic were for two and others for more. They were all the best. Eaten in the mountains or by the sea, they were all enjoyable.  Wood River picnic area. Johnson Lake in Canada  Crab sandwiches in Bodega in California.... Challis Idaho  Redfish Lake Idaho. What a beautiful way to spend the Summer. Sandwiches and cookies, blue skies and good company.  Not ready for Fall.... Happy Summer Days.....

Walks, Lake Day and I've had Enough

I love my morning walks this time of year. I tend to focus on the beauty  Because we all know that when Winter comes, I'll be whining. Had a beautiful day at Redfish .. Picnic and lake time.  And to finish up this post, it's my anniversary. To be honest, this has been a really hard year. I am working very hard on not correcting the things that Wes says. He is often confused and his problem solving skills are declining.  My other problem comes when we are around people in the stake and he's always walking up to people (who are apparently Bishops) and saying, ' Hello Bishop'. I don't even have words to describe how weird I think this is.   Sometimes I feel like he has joined a club that I want no part of.  If you have any words of wisdom....I need them.  I have been thinking about my mom and these were her words of wisdom...Men are weird and they get weirder w...
