40 Years

In a couple of weeks we will have been married for 40 years. Let me tell you, 40 years is a long time. We are not the same people and we are forever changing.

Many of our anniversaries are very low key. Some years ignored, other years just too busy to take care of. This years has been in the books for 10 years. That's right, 10 years ago I told Wes, Hawaii on the 40th.

I still can't believe we did it.

Beautiful beaches. The water temperature is perfect for the hot, humid days.

People tell me how happy we look. I'm not going to pretend. Taking selfies is stressful for us. This one just worked.

We did the Polynesian Culture Center, dinner and the show.

We found some turtles. I know you can't see them, but they are in the surf. They would stick their cute little heads and flippers up.

We went by the Laie Temple a few times. We stayed close by and kept going back.

We also went to Dole Pineapple.

Wes had a Dole whip. I had a smoothie in a pineapple.

We also went Pearl Harbor.I did not cry, but it was close.

I can't even imagine what this was like when it happened.

We were at the airport to come home when our flight was delayed.  We ended up in Waikiki.

We thanked Delta Airlines for our $73 breakfast and beautiful hotel room.

But we were ready to come home.

Will we go back?  I'm not planning on it, but if one of the kids wants us to go. I might try it again.

Aloha....
