Birds

I have a new bird feeder.

I have to hang it on cloths line to keep the squirrels out of it. I only fill it once a week. The birds line up to take turns. The doves and squirrels eat what drops to the ground.

I was reading in the New Testament about how God takes care of the birds and the lilies of the fields. So many times He does it through us. Whether we are feeding the birds or dropping food off to friends, or writing a check to help with the many humanitarian crisis in the world, we become the Hand of the Lord.

Winter Walk

I hate ice in the Winter. The other day I left school at 5 ( I know it's too late). The sky was blue and the temperature above freezing. By 7 we had an inch of snow and it had turned to ice. It lasted the rest of the week.

We had planned to go Sun Valley on Saturday. So we put on layers and went for a walk in the snow and 26 degrees.

It's the same trail I went on this Fall. Thinks have changed.

The trail is groomed so it's not icy.

It's my idea of a Winter sport.

A good day for a walk and lunch in Ketchum.

As I think of seeing the hand of the Lord, I think of safe travels to school. Of my friend, Melinda, starting a new therapy and warm shelter. God is good and always there.

Chior

We have a Ward Chior. I put it together, keep the music, choose a conductor, and take the call when we are asked to sing in Stake Confrence.  I have to say that they are the most enthusiastic chior. We have two families that sing in it. They make us look like a lot of people. Anyone who sings in a church chior knows that the angels sing with you. I'm happy to have Stake Confrence over with. The chior sounded so good and I could see he hand of the Lord in it in so many ways. Bonus; I don't have to make cookies for my chior anymore.

I finished testing at school so I will have all my groups back tomorrow.  I'm looking forward to it. My bags are full of all kinds of things for projects. Bring it on.

Shower

My dad has been struggling with Phonmoia since Thanksgiving. One of the hardest things they do is get him to a doctor. He is very weak and it's worse when he is sick.
We have someone come and shower him once week. Last week she gave my mom a name of a doctor who makes house calls. What a blessing that would  be. Truly the hand of the Lord.

These were better days. Better days are ahead.

My week was a cold one. I was sick most of it and am happy that things are looking up. I had lunch with my Kinder-teacher friends yesterday. One of them has been battling with Cancer for years. It looks like she is going to lose this battle soon. She is such a beautiful soul. A mentor to all of us. Talented. Loving. Good. My heart hurts.

Warmer Weather to all...

Lunch

I have a new schedule this year. I miss having lunch with one of my favorite co workers so I made an effort to go down and see her during lunch. She told me about the continuing journey with her 16 year and a health problem. Her problem was finding a specific kind of doctor. As I got up to leave I had a clear thought of the name of a doctor.  A couple of days later she told me that she had contacted him and had an appointment.  That thought...was the hand if the Lord.

I also went to Boise this week for a Confrence on teaching English Language Learners. I listened to stories of refugees and imigrants. I'm so happy to part of this process. Language, culture, and life. They go together.

Lastly; I made a goal not to go to the store and get a soda during school for a month . Didn't make it. Honestly, what was I thinking?
