New Grandson!

Image
Todd and Katelyn had the baby this week!!!  His name is Peter Ashton.  Todd said that they didn't name him for anyone in the family, but that no one in the family that has this name, made them not want to name him Peter.   We all know that both Peter Halls are great guys. I went back to work this week.  I was sad to go after my perfectly lovely summer.  The first day was a little rocky, I came home and wanted ibuprofen, chocolate and  I didn't fix dinner. Busy, Busy, Busy Week.

Joe Mamas Car Show

Image
Callie came home for the weekend and she loves the car show. I can find beauty in cars,  love the colors and the lines and the contrast and the shiny stuff and the oval and the shape and the curves and the labels and the two tones and the windows and the craftsmanship and the tail gates  and the memories...

Summer

I love this weed.   It makes me remember that despite all the bad in the world, there is always something good.  So I was walking yesterday and out of the wheat field, (behind this weed) came a family of pheasants, And crossed the road into the corn field. It was cool. When we came back from California in the end of June,  we looked at the corn (it was about a foot tall) and prayed it would grow.   It did.  We are grateful.

Part 2

After the park we took a quick side trip to Canada. I took Wes to a Canadian favorite;  Tim Hortons . I asked for doughnut holes; a  sure sign of a foreigner. Everyone in Canada knows they're called Timbits.     It was beautiful there also, but I had a cloud in my way here. We also went to this cute quilt show in Eureka Montana. There were over 400 quilts and it was a beautiful day. Everywhere you looked there were quilts. We drove home down 93. We had a short stop at Flathead Lake. It was here that we saw an inflatable  kayak . I can foresee one of these in Wes's future. And then we drove through the Bitter Root Valley. It sure is nice to be home again.

Glacier National Park

Wes and I took a few days off before he started coaching soccer and went to  Glacier National Park. We had all kinds of weather. But found the park to breathtaking.  We hiked to this waterfall. It was beautiful. I am sorry to say that when these clouds finally moved they had left a fresh dusting of snow. Just another mountain. These were everywhere. It is an international park. Here we are at the beginning of a hike to Hidden Lakes. Notice the i-pad. It was well used. Here I am at the half way point to Hidden Lakes.  Which, it turns out, is as far as I went. No worries, I wasn't alone. Look what Wes found as he finished the hike. And he found the Hidden Lakes.  We did another hike and then ended up at Lake McDonald. It was a good day.

Quilt Show

I did go to the quilt show in Springville.  If you want to see the pictures they are  here , and  here  and  here . It was beautiful.
