Happy Birthday and Fathers Day

This is a post for my children, because sometimes we just forget about it. My dad turned 79 yesterday, June 16, 1932. He was born in a hospital in Idaho Falls and weighed under 3 pounds. Because there was no NICU, they sent him home to a farm house in Amman Idaho. He lived in shoe box. They kept him on the open door of the oven to keep him warm and feed him with a eye dropper. It must of worked, he sure has grown. He was an only child and his mother died when he was 8. He obviously had a purpose in life. Not to mention that his birthday and Father's day almost always fall in the same week. Hey, if you forget one, you usually remember the other.
Now to start planning a party for him for next year. I was also thinking of a making him a quilt. He does like to take naps, so a nap quilt would be a good idea. Thinking, thinking, thinking... it's what you do when you can't be sewing, sewing sewing. But I am starting to feel better.
