Apricots!!!!!

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang the Handcart Song this morning.
It made me happy,
What can I say?

For the record, I do have 1 family that came across the plains with a handcart.
It was a family with 8 kids.
I have read some of their memories of it
and they loved it; thought it was a great adventure.
I'm not sure what their parents thought of it,
but I think I have a pretty good idea.

The city of Jerome is full of loaded apricot trees.
It is crazy how many apricots have made it to harvest.
I feel bad, because I made 2 batches of jam and I'm done.
But someone asked if they could pick my tree.
YES!  Yes, you can!

God Bless America

Not all weeks are good weeks

Let's face it,
Not all weeks are good weeks.

This one was not the best.

I found out I have to take my test
again and I'm not happy about it.
(This is a long story, and I will share it one day.)

So, I'm out some money,
money that I was going to use
to go see my sweet grandsons in Georgia,
and I am going to take a test once more.

I'm slightly frustrated.

So, while being slightly frustrated,
I had a bang at the door one evening
and
I found this.

The young women from church had left me a treat.

So my message is this:
Do something nice today.
You never know who needs it.

Also,
I could hear my doorbell ditchers
laughing their heads off.
You might want to try it.

Along way away

We took a trip.
We really wanted to meet Keith and his family some where in between
Idaho and Canada.
We picked Coeur d'alene Idaho.
It is closer to Canada than Southern Idaho,
but it is along way from Calgary.
In the end, we each spent the same amount of time getting there.

It was pretty.
There was plenty to do.
And we enjoyed spending time with our sweet granddaughters.

They have a bike trail across the lake.

Just in case we thought we went too far,
we were still in the land of the free,
home of the brave.

The kayak got plenty of use.

Ice cream is a given at a lake.

The hike we took was beautiful.

Very pretty.

Blue

We had a little trip to Yuba City last week for a wedding reception.

We decided to take a day and go to the coast.

The question was where?

We choose Fort Bragg.

It was beautiful.

I love the color of the ocean.

And the trees.

Many years ago, my dad took us to Fort Bragg
and we ate at Captain Flints.

It is still there and their chowder was delicious

The place we stayed at had their own beach.
It was so sandy and quiet.

It is hard to see, but the beach house on the cliff,
has a whale on top.

There was plenty of room to look around.

Lots of muscles.

There was a diver in the rocks.
I assume he was looking for muscles.

Not gonna lie,
The water was CoLd.

Found a few sea anemones.

We also walked to the Point Cabrillo Light Station.
It is a nice little walk.
I often see a whale out in the ocean from there,
but not this trip.

There are few rocks along this shore.

Everyone else on the walk had on jackets,
but hey, we are from Idaho and felt warm to us.

We also went to the Sacramento Temple.
The flowers were Amazing.

I have most of these planted at home,
but they are tiny compared to these.

And yes, we did go to the wedding reception.

It was lovely.
Congratulations to Brad and Alisa Kelly.
