Weeds

Here are some pictures from a walk Wes and I took today.

I find it interesting....
that so much of what we see....
are weeds...

All in all, a lovely day.

More fun with the Goose

Here they are learning a new skill....how to stick out your tongue. IT was fun to watch the boys play football. I have some other pictures from years ago of the boys playing football.
The goose played too.
Here is the pink and green quilt. I still have the boarders to work on. Here is what I have learned. Just because I like something Dixie makes, it does not mean I should make it. There are 100's of mistakes on this, which means I will have no choice but to keep it.
And last, here is Wes learning a new skill. He is cleaning sewing machines. It is so hard to find someone to clean a machine around here. We have a business license and hope to be able to do this as a supplement to our ever smaller teacher paycheck.

Pumpkin Time

So last weekend Wes and I each had a day off, so we went to see K@C and the goose. First things first, I put her hair up in a pony. Then we were off to the a corn maze/pumpkin farm.
She loved the goats and the pumpkins, but we did skip the corn maze.
The next day, we watched her run...
and run.
She was very happy to find a rock.
They did not get moved into their house like they had planned, so C and the goose came home with Wes and I. You know what that means? It means we have played with a baby all week. More pictures later.

You know you live in a hick town when...

here is r's friend... the princethis is the winning float and trust me, it was 100 times better than the other 3.the homecoming royalty where in pick up trucks.
make that 4 x 4 pick up trucks
the band looked a little... how should we say, unkempt.
the flag people are always interesting.
And last but not least... I needed a quilt for a fundraiser. Because it is for a smaller town than the one I live in, I just felt that it needed to be small, fast and easy. I came up with the idea last Sunday and put it together. Hope they can make some money off it.

Fall

Still working on the pink and green quilt. I am looking forward to an afternoon to put the top together. Then I can work on the applique that follows.I have waited all summer for the garden to produce. These little acorn squash are for the goose.
I really never thought these were going to be red. But finally, they turned. The garden was a group project this year. I sat in a chair and told r. where to plant everything. Then we made Wes water and weed. After many months of a mild summer, we are now enjoying all the work. I also have a couple of dozen onions....which, I might add, I love. Happy Fall.
