Let's Have a Look-See

We have a small Farmers Market here. It was Sunflower  Day yesterday. I like the edible ones too. Even if I gave them to my boys. I did buy some veggies too. It's nice way to spend an hour on Saturday morning. I am always surprised by how many people I visit with. My daughter asked if we would meet her at Redfish Lake for her birthday. That's not really a hard sell. I love this place.  Yes, I realize that there is no picture of Callie. I lost it on my phone. But she was there and I made her a cake. Did I mention that grand daughter #5 has arrived. I am looking forward to holding her this week.

Callie wanted to go to Redfish Lake while she was home. So she and I jumped in the car and went. Although the Beaver Creek fire , had closed some roads near Sun Valley,   the week before, everything was open .  The sun was in and out of clouds, but it was the perfect temperature......80ish. The lake was low; we walk out to the dock. Callie, visited with some old friends , and I just enjoyed the day. Callie brought home sliver toenail polish. I could get used to it, I already have my own. I had been missing a day at the beach. So it wasn't the ocean, but it has the same effect on me.... without so many people to share it with.

We had our annual camping trip.  Missing last years trip, made it really hard to go this year. This is Lonesome Larry... This guy is trying to raise awareness and get the sockeye back in the lake. Good Luck! We wanted to take a hike.   Wes wanted to ride in the boat. Callie said that 5 year olds  go on this hike. I knew we were in trouble on the way over. It was a pretty walk. For the record, I did not see any 5 year olds. I made it and then took a ibuprofen for a couple of days. Wes made it too. After we ate, hydrated, and had a rest, we went to the lake.

So we went to visit Scott and Redfish Lake for the 4th of July.   A much better visit than last years.  I enjoyed the lake my way. And Wes and Rich enjoyed it their way. And a little paddle boarding. I sat on the dock and waited. I got the red, white and blue ice cream cone. And we decided that there are more cows than people in Stanley Idaho. Here is Scott working. It was a great day at the lake.

Look! We match. That has only happened about 4 times in since she was born. On the 4th of July, we decided to take a drive and go see l.s. at Redfish lake, where she is working this summer. She had been telling us about a place on the Salmon river they call the 'hot pot'. So we drove out of Stanley, following the Salmon River (which everyone should do at least one time) in search of this local spot. Let me assure you, it is local, you have to know where to pull over just to see it. Some one has put this pot in the river. The pipe is a natural hot spring. There is a plug in the pot so you can let the water out when you are done and it fills with a combination of cold river water and hot water. Someone was using it when we got there, but they said I could take their picture. Only in Idaho, my Friend. We also had a picnic at the Stanley Muesum. My crew just had to figure out what this did. Rich at the lake Scott at the lake with his shades Keith and Courtney came up this weekend and wanted to go see Scott E. You don't have to ask me twice, I miss that kid, so off to the lake we went. We had a great time and it was Callie's birthday, so we had cake to boot! We have done some interesting things on Callie's birthday. Compared to moving, this was a great day.

I like to go camping. I like to go tent camping and I don't mind cooking or cleaning up. My idea of camping is eating, going on a hike, taking a nap, reading a book under a pine tree or down at the beach and repeating this process. The one thing I have to have for a successful camping trip is an air mattress because I do not sleep on the ground. So when the the air mattress lost all it's air the first night, we almost had a disaster. We couldn't decide between going to Stanley and buying a new one or putting Callie and mattress in the lake (it was so cold) and finding the hole. We opted with a trip to Stanley, Idaho, population 100. Had a fun little trip, meet some of the people Scott told us about and got a good nights sleep that night.
