Let's Have a Look-See

I learned something new this week. There is such a thing as a hummingbird moth. It was fun to watch it.  I posted it for my kids and of course they were quick to identify it.  I  took this on my walk. I love the color contrast. I love how Gigi loves to be in the flowers.  It's like she thinks there is a competition.  I packed up the car and am now in caregiver mode. I will be here for 8 days.  I brought some entertainment. And I wacked off her bangs.  She never stops moving. She loves to play and has been hungry most every  minute. She also loves to hide things and is good at giving hugs.  It's been a difficult couple of weeks so it's good to be here. Praying that wind dies down and we make it through the week.  Grandkids are the blessing you get for raising kids.... Life is good .... Jesus loves us.....

I am thankful for my mom. She was my friend when I was an adult and my rock when I was a kid.  My dad traveled for work and she was the boss. She was 4'10" of 'large and in charge'. We did what she said.  She was not perfect but she was teachable and willing t change. I miss her. I could use her helpful words of wisdom, but I understand that the time is over.  I love this mother. She is doing great.  And I love her as my daughter. She is often my substitute mother when I need her to be.  This sweet friend has been a mother to me for over 45 years. She is truly a blessing to me. My sister's and I have had an interesting path to love and friendship. I'm grateful for them.  You would never know we came from the same mother.  And my last picture of mothers are my sassy, sweet friends. You just never know who God will put in your life to help you when you need it most.  ...

I was having lunch with my sister and we talked about walking in the neighborhood to see the flowers.  I call these Popcorn Trees. I have one, but Wes cut it back ???? The Iris are out early this year. I love that they take care of themselves.  This momma was moving her babies across a parking lot. Just look how well behaved they are.  I love polenaters. I spent a hot minute watching them work.  There is a reason they are called busy bees.  And this?  I went a little crazy at the FFA plant sale. Considering I wasn't going to get plants until after my trip to North Carolina, I have no words to explain this. I just love flowers and they will be with me until October.  Flower Power.... Buzzzz.... Beauty everywhere.....

I complained about the wind last week and hoped that it would be a better week. It was, still windy, but not as much. I got my allergies under control.  Church tulips....they are so pretty. When it's windy and the pollen is high, I can't walk outside. So I took the time to order new walking shoes. Finally got to walk at the end of the week.  Wes was gone yesterday. I had a great day at home.  I finally got to basted this quilt. It was painful but the day was beautiful and it felt good to finally get this step done.  I watched the Kentucky Derby. I love this horse race. They all start from the same place.  Strategy, physical endurance, luck, and determined riders make a winner. There are life lessons in this two minute race.  And I fixed a dinner for me. After spending the day with my quilt, it had to be pretty. I put my feet up and enjoyed the evening. I watched a movie call...
