Let's Have a Look-See

As always, if you want a better view, don't forget you can click on the pictures. This quilt was inspired by the music of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It is the best of show and I would have to agree. Just lovely. Love the paper piecing of the animals. Here is a Bunny Hill basket quilt. This red work was exquisite. Couldn't help but think of Miss Lizzie. Love the boarder on this one and the colors on the one below. At first glance I was not sure about this one, but I was so impressed with the colors in this. It was made from a picture of the Dallas Temple and I really enjoyed it. And here is the first quilt I saw. I love this boarder. Well, this is the last of the quilt exhibit. It was like candy for the eyes. Can't wait until next year.

This is hand quilted. Being a hand quilter, I was pretty much amazed at the work that went into this quilt. It won best of show for hand quilting. I love this quilt. It is made from stash and the back is made of different fat quarters. Sometimes quilting can add a new dimension to a quilt and this quilt would be completely different without these flowers quilted into it.

I went to the Springville Museum and promised myself I would not take any pictures, but then I changed my mind after I saw the first quilt. I couldn't help it, some of these quilts blew my mind. Here are some boarders that I enjoyed.

Okay, I promise, this is all of them. I have truly enjoyed reliving this experience. This is called, Disappearing Garden. The use of metallic threads for quilting really changes the way these quilts look. This was made by a woman who was losing her sight. She said she sewed most of it with her eyes closed. My quilts just look like I had my eyes closed. This was the 'best of show' and it was. It has tiny piecing, which I hope is paper piecing and all and all, just a beauty.

This quilt won best use of color. The piecing in the middle of this quilt is teeny tiny. For a circle bed. This another log cabin quilt I never did figure out how they did this. Some of it is folded so it has a 3D effect. Amazing This women had been on a mission to Russia. This was a queen size quilt. Just for fun. These blocks were machine embroidered. Very beautiful. This is a little tiny piece, about 14 inches square, but I love it. A Doddle Quilt This quilt show always has Grandma's Garden quilts in it. But look at the fussy cutting that is in this quilt. This is lovely and hand quilted. Wagon Wheels This quilt almost has some motion to it. Love this and I believe it is hand quilted also. Love this one.
