While We Were Gone

 As we were driving home last week there was a mass shooting in the Magic Valley.  

We live 10 miles for the In and Out Burger in Twin Falls.

My first thought was literally, Thank God it wasn't a school shooting.

My next thought was, What is wrong with the world?

How have we grown into a society that thinks that people shooting back at the gunman is a heroic deed?

Why does anyone need an Assault Rifle?

I am not certain that hunting for animals is necessary.  It is a sport but not a harvest. They can take care of their own population. Nature has it's way.

So our community is healing. My Facebook page has had a few Go Fund Me's for shooting victims.  

My heart is broken for the family of Ashley, who was from Stockton California. Can you imagine sending your daughter to Twin Falls, whose yearly murder rate is about a months murder rate in Stockton and having her shot and killed at the drive through window?  

It is who we are. It happened, here, and we will recover, but we will not change anything.

Praying for peace on my way to work was a normal thing. Praying for peace in the community was a normal thing.  Now I am praying for hearts to heal and life to get back normal. 





God be with you....

I love my morning walks this time of year. I tend to focus on the beauty  Because we all know that when Winter comes, I'll be whining. Had a beautiful day at Redfish .. Harvest Blessings

I love the end of Summer with its beautiful harvests.  The smell of soup that fills the kitchen. I spent most of yesterday making tomato soup for grilled cheese and tomato soup dinners this Winter.  I'm so grateful that my neighbor gifted me the tomatoes and fresh onions were available at the Farmers Market. This simple recipe is 100% nutrious and delicious.  I freeze the soup in 3 cup portions. It's what Wes uses to cook dinner once a week. I did think that it was a lot of work so that Wes could think he cooked dinner, more than once yesterday.  Love living in Idaho.... Harvest Blessings.... Good day...

The Summer of $50 Picnic

I love a picnic, but this year has been pricey. Some of these picnic were for two and others for more. They were all the best. Eaten in the mountains or by the sea, they were all enjoyable.  Wood River picnic area. Johnson Lake in Canada  Crab sandwiches in Bodega in California.... Challis Idaho  Redfish Lake Idaho. What a beautiful way to spend the Summer. Sandwiches and cookies, blue skies and good company.  Not ready for Fall.... Happy Summer Days.....
