April Blooms


I opened my blinds the other morning to find my Crabapple tree in full bloom. It's been a couple of years since it was this pretty. 
I can't begin to express how grateful I am to be able to see this all day long. 


I went out back to clean up some potted plants and looked over to see my Bleeding Heart had returned. There was really only one thing to do. 
"Welcome back. I've missed you and am so happy to see your beautiful blooms" 


I was taking a picture of a quilt and looked up to see this. Everything is do vibrant this year. 


And this guy isn't mine, but it made my heart happy. 

I'm glad I got the outside taken care of as the weather is not so good this week.

 I think I will write a letter to my State representative today. You know, welcome them back from a two-week vacation and remind them that.
• the President has lost his last marble.
• that they should not get paid when there is a government shutdown.
• they need to pass a budget and keep ICE and the military under control.
• and that they work for the people of Idaho, not MAGA.
• and as always, that they need to have some courage and do the right thing. 

I'm sure they look forward to my letters. Actually, I'm sure they never get looked at, but I feel better after I write them.

Harvest Blessings

I love the end of Summer with its beautiful harvests.  The smell of soup that fills the kitchen. I spent most of yesterday making tomato soup for grilled cheese and tomato soup dinners this Winter.  I'm so grateful that my neighbor gifted me the tomatoes and fresh onions were available at the Farmers Market. This simple recipe is 100% nutrious and delicious.  I freeze the soup in 3 cup portions. It's what Wes uses to cook dinner once a week. I did think that it was a lot of work so that Wes could think he cooked dinner, more than once yesterday.  Love living in Idaho.... Harvest Blessings.... Good day...

Walks, Lake Day and I've had Enough

I love my morning walks this time of year. I tend to focus on the beauty  Because we all know that when Winter comes, I'll be whining. Had a beautiful day at Redfish .. Picnic and lake time.  And to finish up this post, it's my anniversary. To be honest, this has been a really hard year. I am working very hard on not correcting the things that Wes says. He is often confused and his problem solving skills are declining.  My other problem comes when we are around people in the stake and he's always walking up to people (who are apparently Bishops) and saying, ' Hello Bishop'. I don't even have words to describe how weird I think this is.   Sometimes I feel like he has joined a club that I want no part of.  If you have any words of wisdom....I need them.  I have been thinking about my mom and these were her words of wisdom...Men are weird and they get weirder w...

The Summer of $50 Picnic

I love a picnic, but this year has been pricey. Some of these picnic were for two and others for more. They were all the best. Eaten in the mountains or by the sea, they were all enjoyable.  Wood River picnic area. Johnson Lake in Canada  Crab sandwiches in Bodega in California.... Challis Idaho  Redfish Lake Idaho. What a beautiful way to spend the Summer. Sandwiches and cookies, blue skies and good company.  Not ready for Fall.... Happy Summer Days.....
