Sunday
I really wanted to go to Music and the Spoken Word. What I hadn't planned on was President Nelson passing away during the night.
When I walked in, it hit me like a freight train that this concencrated building was full of the Spirit of God.
The program was beautiful. It had last minute changes due to the passing of President Nelson and they finished with God be With You. I and many others were crying....both times...you sit through the practice session also. Because of the changes they were a minute or two short...it is a radio broadcast and is planned to the minute...so it turned into a minute of silence. Extremely powerful.
We spent the rest of the day making visits.
First to Junior, who used to be in our ward. He had some health issues and is in assisted living near his family. He was very happy to see us. Next to Wes's oldest brother Mike. A lovely visit with he and his wife and last, the Luthers, who used to live across the street. We have a very special love for each other.
Although Wes whined several times about needing to take the Sacrament and never finding a church and doing it, I found the day perfect. We had a good dose of the Spirit followed by visiting the sick and those who are lonely.
With Wes, it's all about what happens in the building. I'm not saying that the Sacrament isn't important, but I'm okay with a week without while traveling. I on the other hand, am all about what you do outside the church building. Having 100% Sacrament attendance is awesome, but seeking out opportunities to help others, visit for a minute and have non member friends is just as important to me.
Jesus is more to me than once a week. This day was beautiful and my heart was full.
There was also the attack at the church in Michigan. It was extremely upsetting. I find all gun violence very upsetting. God bless all who have been effected.
Sunday can be a day of Service....
We Thank Thee, Oh God for a Prophet...
Music is my healing language....
