Let's Have a Look-See

I love a picnic, but this year has been pricey. Some of these picnic were for two and others for more. They were all the best. Eaten in the mountains or by the sea, they were all enjoyable.  Wood River picnic area. Johnson Lake in Canada  Crab sandwiches in Bodega in California.... Challis Idaho  Redfish Lake Idaho. What a beautiful way to spend the Summer. Sandwiches and cookies, blue skies and good company.  Not ready for Fall.... Happy Summer Days.....

I love my morning walks this time of year. I tend to focus on the beauty  Because we all know that when Winter comes, I'll be whining. Had a beautiful day at Redfish .. Picnic and lake time.  And to finish up this post, it's my anniversary. To be honest, this has been a really hard year. I am working very hard on not correcting the things that Wes says. He is often confused and his problem solving skills are declining.  My other problem comes when we are around people in the stake and he's always walking up to people (who are apparently Bishops) and saying, ' Hello Bishop'. I don't even have words to describe how weird I think this is.   Sometimes I feel like he has joined a club that I want no part of.  If you have any words of wisdom....I need them.  I have been thinking about my mom and these were her words of wisdom...Men are weird and they get weirder w...

Well, it finally felt like a retirement week. It was good. I did end up sick and had to visit the doctor.  Truth is I'm a little unsettled about Trump meeting with Putin and I can't help but wonder what will happen this week.  Anyone who knows me knows that I think Putin owns Trump. I'm not sure what happened but I pray that those two haven't  started WWIII.   I don't usually write about politics here, but it's on my mind.  God bless us all. 

It seems weird not to be going to work tomorrow, but  I'm okay with that.  I usually write my favorite Summer memories, however, I have some more Summer left in me.  So here is what we did this week. We started this kitchen re-do years ago.  To be honest, I wasn't sure about the paint, but with the tile, I felt better.  The best thing we did was change the lights. What a difference it made.  To be honest, Wes did the work. Me, I took walks and enjoyed not worrying about ending Summer. I do have some ideas for that post, but not today.  Good time of year to walk around town. Or sit on the deck and read...    Let's hope this retirement thing works because I don't want to go back to work....

I've written about the Anderson reunion before. It never cease to amaze me that I belong  to this kind and welcoming family.   These are some of my mother's cousins. They wanted me in the picture to represent her family.  I would rather not be in the picture, but they asked. From left to right, Terry and his son, Andy's son, Jack, Forest, David, Steven, Casey,  Ron, Devon's sons, Gary and Jay, Cy's sons. Front row is Elaine, Jill, Janette and Lu, the rest of Devon's family and me, Alta's granddaughter. LaDell had two sons there, but not in the picture.  The ranch was beautiful... Like always.... Never tire of the view..... Scott came with us. He smiled. It made my heart happy. I am grateful that they invite me to a reunion of some one who I have never met, but has given me a ticket to spend time with these sweet people, who are my family.  Families are everything.... God is in the details....

Todd asked if I would watch his kids while he and Katelyn went to Copenhagen for a conference. Then Keith and Courtney decided to come down so the kids could play together.  Cousin Power  They love the cats. Lots of backyard time... An outing a day helps keep boredom away... Hunt Interment Camp  Bowling..... Dairy Queen... Priene Bridge... CSI Harriet Center... Banbury Hot Springs... Hagerman Fossil Center.... And lots and lots of food, play time, and more food time...
