Weddings

Image
My niece, Hannah, was married on Monday in the Provo City Library.  She had asked Wes to officiate. He did okay. He remembered both of their names, which was my goal for him.  When doing the pictures, she asked for one with the aunts. We love this girl. She has had a very difficult life but continues to find joy.  I also got to hang out with this sweet thing.  I think she will be a ginger yet.  It was fun to hang with my family.  I wish them the joy and love and happiness.  As for the other wedding. Well, Wes had to work Friday morning, so we missed the noon temple sealing. Traffic was extremely slow, so we just made it to the reception.  Highlights:   A big hug from David A big smile from Rob Fun visits with family Family is everything.... Pumpkin pie makes me happy...

Sunday

I really wanted to go to Music and the Spoken Word. What I hadn't planned on was President Nelson passing away during the night. When I walked in, it hit me like a freight train that this concencrated building was full of the Spirit of God.  The program was beautiful. It had last minute changes due to the passing of President Nelson and they finished with God be With You. I and many others were crying....both times...you sit through the practice session also. Because of the changes they were a minute or two short...it is a radio broadcast and is planned to the minute...so it turned into a minute of silence. Extremely powerful.  We spent the rest of the day making visits.  First to Junior, who used to be in our ward. He had some health issues and is in assisted living near his family. He was very happy to see us.  Next to Wes's oldest brother Mike. A lovely visit with he and his wife and last, the Luthers, who used to live across the...

Utah in the Fall

Image
We went to Utah for a wedding on Friday and another on Monday. We spent Saturday in the Manti area. We took a drive up the canyon near Ephiram.  We did go for a hike. To walk through this a little walk through Heaven.  There were signs of a storm coming, but we had pockets of sun.  The yellows are truly stunning. And there is a little red here and there. It really was a beautiful day.  We started at the Manti Temple. In my quest to visit all of the Pioneer temples, this on was pretty amazing.  As was this flower. The new temple in Ephiram is a beauty. Looks almost ready to open.  All in all a beautiful day.  Change can be good ... Oh how beautiful Fall can be...

End of Summer

Image
I have enjoyed these last weeks of Summer.  And even if I've stayed home, I've truly enjoyed Jerome.  A few weeks ago I was cleaning out some dead spots in some old flowers. I thought it might increase growth next year. If been at a while when I came upon these guys. I took off. There may have been running involved. I was worried that I had ticked them off. I've had a wasp hunt me down before.  But they didn't even notice. They were so busy doing there thing, that they didn't know they were exposed. I had Wes spray them and then take away the nest.  I tell this story because  1....I ran .....and  2....don't get so busy that you don't know when you are exposed.  Happy Fall y'all... God is Good...

What a Week

I'm not a Republican. I'm not a Democrat. I'm not a MAGA. I'm not a Fascist. I would rather have a root canal than listen to Fox News. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I'm 100% anti-gun With the killing of Charlie Kirk this week it has become clear to me that people are blind to the truth. For the record, I knew his killer was going to be a home-grown, gun loving, Conservative - being a Republican is very confusing right now. And it was.  In my world what happened this week is that two families were forever torn apart. A young mother and two children lost the father in their home. A Christian family has lost a son, because he will probably be convicted with the death penalty. That family, like so many, taught him how to use his gun and they will forever know, that he used that skill for evil.  The Maga world is praising Charlie Kirk as a Godly man who shared light and love with others. I had no idea who he is, but everything I've read seems to point to a very ch...

Harvest Blessings

Image
I love the end of Summer with its beautiful harvests.  The smell of soup that fills the kitchen. I spent most of yesterday making tomato soup for grilled cheese and tomato soup dinners this Winter.  I'm so grateful that my neighbor gifted me the tomatoes and fresh onions were available at the Farmers Market. This simple recipe is 100% nutrious and delicious.  I freeze the soup in 3 cup portions. It's what Wes uses to cook dinner once a week. I did think that it was a lot of work so that Wes could think he cooked dinner, more than once yesterday.  Love living in Idaho.... Harvest Blessings.... Good day...

The Summer of $50 Picnic

Image
I love a picnic, but this year has been pricey. Some of these picnic were for two and others for more. They were all the best. Eaten in the mountains or by the sea, they were all enjoyable.  Wood River picnic area. Johnson Lake in Canada  Crab sandwiches in Bodega in California.... Challis Idaho  Redfish Lake Idaho. What a beautiful way to spend the Summer. Sandwiches and cookies, blue skies and good company.  Not ready for Fall.... Happy Summer Days.....
