Oh Canada

Image
Two years, four months and 2 weeks and I week later. I found my little family People always ask me what Canada looks like. Well, it looks like Idaho without the sagebrush. It is cold and Calgary is a really big city.  What I really want to see in in Canada is these little faces. They have grown and matured, but we were happy to see each other.

Autumn

I promised myself that I would not fall in love with the Fall colors this year. What comes next is a cold and long Winter.  But the yellows of the trees have won. I love the season of change.  I love pumpkins. The orange is warm and happy. Watching my students help each other carve this pumpkin and then exclaim, Let's put a fire in it, made my heart happy.  I am also thankful for the end of season summer flowers.

Cemeteries and Temples

We had an Eastern Idaho adventure yesterday.  We had planned a trip to the  Pocatello Temple Open House with some friends.  When our friends couldn't make it,  we took a drive to Ammon Idaho and then went out to Bone.  Here lie my great grandparents.  We also found his three brothers. They came to Idaho together to settle and live. They planted trees next to their sites. It's been 100 years and the tees have  grown.  My grandparents are also here.  And this is my older brother. He died inutero a week before he was born, still born, in 1959.  He was strangled by the cord. My dad was in the Army. They were living in Virgina. They shipped him by train to Idaho Falls, where my Grandparents took care of the burial.  My mom delivered a full term still born baby and then shipped him across the  country.  If she suffered emotional from it, she has never shared those feelings with me....

Sick Kids and Fall Colors

Image
We took a ride up to the South Hills last week to see some Fall colors. What can I say?  I don't really like the South Hills, but the Aspens were showing off their colors. Callie, Spencer and Mosby came for Confrence weekend. Love to spend a couple of days together. My class of 17 has been sick. I had a week were I only had 8 students in class. They had all kinds of things.  I work for a school district that has no contact tracing and I'm not allowed to talk about anything I know. But let me tell you this. It is my opinion that Covid is real and that a 5 year old can get it, maybe even spend sometime in the hospital.  Please be careful.
