Made it

I don't know about anyone else,
but the first week of school is a killer.
Good Night!
But I made it.
I am so happy that I work at a district
that  has a 4 day work week.

I am enjoying 1st grade.
I have a nice class.
I work with a good team of teachers.
I have the best neighbors in the world.
They brought dinner over of the 1st day of school.

Back to School

Tomorrow is the 1st day of school.

My bag is packed - I have filled this bag up everyday a couple of times this week
I have a new outfit
A short hair cut, because I won't be able to get back for at least 6 weeks.
I have new shoes - okay, maybe more than one pair - okay, maybe a lot of new shoes
Lesson plans
And most important
A new bottle of vitamins.

I have a file of pictures called Spring and Summer 2016.
I was going to pick my favorite,
as my summer is pretty much over.

It was hard, they are all my favorites
I am so grateful to be able to spend some time with my family this summer.

This little beach near Fort Bragg was beautiful,
and I had an incredible scripture study there that morning.

And from the wedding -
I love this picture.

Summer goes by tooooooo fast.
But so does the school year.
I keep thinking that in a heart beat Richard will be home.

So here I come 1st grade.

Ready

I go back to work tomorrow.
It has been a good summer.
I wish we could have seen more beautiful places
and had more time to spend with grand-kids,
but we did the best we could.

Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten - Big Book & Teaching Guide

I went to the school this week
and thought of this book as I
moved furniture and put up bulletin boards.
It will be ready for students when
they get there in one week.

Summer goes by too fast.
The one thing I had on my list of things to do this summer
and did not get to, was a hike in the Sawtooths.
There may be time for that and if not,
we will do it next year.

Portalnd

We went to Portland last week.
My favorite part of the drive is through the waterfall area.

They are so amazing.

We stopped at  Multnomah Falls
It is right off the freeway.

We walked up to the bridge.
I have a habit of taking pictures for people.
I like to ask someone if they would like to be in the picture too.
I must of taken a dozen or more pictures up here.

And someone returned the favor.

I thought we might hike to the top.
There are 11 switchbacks in the mile hike.
I brought good shoes and water,
however,
at switchback 3 of 11, I was done.

 It was a good hike.

We went to Portland for Callie and Spencer's wedding reception.
It was very nice.
We were most happy to see this little cousin.
They have been buddies since the beginning.

It was a good weekend,
but do you want to know something?
I'm done.
I don't want to go anywhere else.
At least until Fall.

Time Flies

My brother was recently in town for a class reunion.
His 40th.
That means that my 40th is couple of years away.
He posted a picture of himself and his high school friend.

I looked at this and thought,
They look so old.
How can they be close to my age?

I recently posted a picture of me with a high school friend
.

I think we look great, not young, but not old.

It is amazing how fast the time goes by.
I'm not sure where it goes,
but I feel blessed to keep in touch with old friends.
