One more trip to Logan

We needed to take care of Scott's car again.
So off we went to Logan.
The problem with visiting college students, is finding something to do after you feed them.
Scott showed us where he likes to run.

He runs by the Providence Cemetery.
Because my grandparents were buried there,
I wanted to get out and explore.

As it turns out, many of my mothers family had been buried there.
Callie is taking a Welsh class this semester and and I even found her link to Wales.

Hopkin and Margaret Mathews, her great, great, great, great, grandparents.

Then Scott runs up the mountain and get this view on the way home.
- just to be clear, we drove -

As we were leaving town, the light was just right to stop and take a few photos of the marsh.

All I could think was, "This place is going to be amazing in a couple of weeks."

A Nice Day for a Parade

I don't know if I've mentioned that I work in Jerome now.
It is so fun to watch the Homecoming Parade with 700, very excited, students.

Here is the cross country team.
Richard was not on it.
I was not happy....it was his last parade.

This is not a bad looking float.

Hmmm, not so sure about this one.

Here is the football team.
They think they are cool.
I'm not so sure.

Notice the nice row of Corvettes,
a little better than this year.

And here is the band.
You want to know a secret?
I begged Richard to quit band.
I am not a band parent.

It was a beautiful day.

Time to go back to Work!

I am not sure I thought this day would ever come,
but here is Rich's last first day of school.
He is a senior,
He is tall,
and he is very much a teenage boy.

I also went back to work and started speaking Spanish.
It felt good.
I will not be working in ESL this year, and I miss it already.
( I am working in Jerome this year)

We finished our summer project.
When I say we, I mean Wes.
WE Wes started with taking down a very old stone fire place.

He made it into a planter --- we will plant in it next year.

And a fire pit, which he really likes.
I, on the other hand, hate fires, because of the smoke.
But it looks nice.

Lake Day

Callie wanted to go to Redfish Lake while she was home.
So she and I jumped in the car and went.
Although the Beaver Creek fire, had closed some roads near Sun Valley,
the week before, everything was open .

The sun was in and out of clouds, but it was the perfect temperature......80ish.

The lake was low; we walk out to the dock.

Callie, visited with some old friends, and I just enjoyed the day.

Callie brought home sliver toenail polish.
I could get used to it, I already have my own.

I had been missing a day at the beach.
So it wasn't the ocean, but it has the same effect on me....
without so many people to share it with.
