A Little Breeze

Yesterday, the weather was perfect!
I walked outside to get a picture of this quilt and
realized that there was a breeze....

one more try....

Oh, come on...

It isn't going to get better than this...

Just another day in Southern Idaho.

Fence building

Last summer, Wes and Richard built a small wall in our yard.
I know the reason he did it, but it is better we don't go there.

So I was looking out the window and thinking,
what any member of his family must be thinking,
"How did H.G. contribute to this from where he is now?"

He Reads!

When I went back to school after Christmas, I had two new students waiting for me.
They had just came to Wendell from a much warmer climate.
There was a older girl and a 8 year old boy, who had never been to school.
They said he was sick, and that they didn't want to pay for his schooling.
Since he has only missed 1 day of school, I am thinking that they were just babying him.

We started at ground zero
Then I dropped it down, when I realized that he didn't realize that letters make sounds.

A couple of weeks ago, I told him, " You will read and you will do it before Spring Break."

Well, I am happy to say He Reads!

You should know that is always a miracle to me.

I am a true believer of Phonics.
My life at work revolves around phonics activities.
Here are some of my favorites.

And my go to game, 'Go Fish'.  We play it with letters, sight words, and numbers.

The big 5-0

So Wes had a big birthday this weekend.
Some of our kids decided to surprise him
and come home for the weekend.

It was fun.
We love these girls.

Ummm, it looks like I forgot to download pictures of the rest of them.
Sorry about that.
Happy Birthday Wes!
