On a lighter note

We usually carve pumpkins the Monday night before Halloween.
But this year, Rich is having dress rehearsals for a play later in the week,
so we did it a day early.

So here is my question, When do we get to stop carving pumpkins?
I mean, really, does it end?

VOTE

In this season of Political Chaos, I just wanted to make a brief statement.

I believe both parties are flawed.

Democrats--Abortion

Republicans--Not wanting to take care of the poor and the needy.  (Read the Book of Mormon)

Therefore, I think you should vote for the candidate that believes in what you think is most important for this country.

I think it is a ridiculous  to vote for someone based on political party, race, gender or religion.

In Idaho, people are afraid to vote for anyone who is not a Republican.  Therefore we have a 3rd world economy going here, as well as education reform that will probably make our already sad number of students going to college (and finishing) even lower.

But the most important thing is that we get out and VOTE

For the record; there will be no more brief political statements.

Fall

Who can get tired of Fall afternoons?

I get up everyday and hope the wind doesn't blow all this beauty away.

Then I remember that I live in southern Idaho.
No Wind?  I don't think so.

Crosswalk

At work I volunteered for crosswalk duty.

So everyday, I head out to cross the kids across State Highway 25.
To my delight, our school received a grant for a crossing light.
It looks very much like this...minus what looks like a city in the background.

So, I was surprised when the local paper's headline read:
Crosswalk Signal Confuses Local Drivers.
Come on...when it is red stop...that's it...stop when it is red.
Gotta love Idaho.

Google Translate

I added the google translate button a few weeks ago, because when I look at my audience, I am always surprised by my readers on this and the WeSeW blog.
Just being myself, I had to try it. So I just translated into Spanish.
Wow!  I was impressed...just saying.
I would love to know if you have ever used it.
Happy Friday!

Friends and Cookies

Last week a candy bar was delivered to a teacher working in the same room as my group.
A certain 3rd grader said, "What is that?"
I tell him it's a candy bar.
"Why did she leave it?"
"Because she is her friend."
"So, Mrs. Hall, Why don't you have a friend?"
That is a good question, isn't it?

So today, I got my candy bar and I shared it after they wrote a sentence about me and my friend.
A certain 3rd wrote, "She is her friend.  They make cookies in the oven."   (there is a reason they are working with me)

I asked, "Do all friends make cookies together?
In a heartbeat, he said,"yes".
I learn something new everyday.
