Class of 2009

Well here he is 12 years later. When he started school, I never thought he would make it. This was our first to graduate from Jerome High School. They had the graduation at the CSI gym. I can understand why they did not have it outside. Let's face it, there is a 50% chance that we would need blankets and coats this time of year. It was a different ceremony and left me with a feeling of being from a 'hick high school'. What can I say, we do live in Idaho.

Walking in May

Here is the the town of Jerome. Please notice that the trees are green and the weeds in the field are doing well also.
You may not be able to tell, but the field has been planted and they have started to water. The corn is up now.

See, we can do green. Now that school is out I can get out more often and I am looking forward to it.

In the Bag

I finished these bags this weekend. I love them, to bad I am giving them away. Pattern is in the spring issue of Quilts and More magazine. Thanks Liz for telling me I needed to buy it. I still want to make the cake pincushions.

What a Week

Rich and Todd have been sharing a room this month. Can you tell who sleep where?

If you guessed that Rich is the mess, you win.

Here is another thought. Notice the attire of those who watch Little League. Yea, it is still worth it to bring a jacket, blanket and I still keep gloves in my purse. It has been okay, but once the sun goes down, bring out the outerwear!

I have been at the middle school for three days this week and then on Friday I found myself on the campus of BYU. Let me share some of my thoughts with you.
At BYU I can hear the birds singing, watch a butterfly go by, while well dressed students walk by on their way to class.

At the middle school kids in the hall are yelling, shoving, poking, and standing at the top of the stairs watching some one drop their gum, while the other laugh. When they get out of school it is like a heard of bison coming. Something is not right here.
Thus my week has passed.

They're Back

I will be the first one to admit that here in Jerome we enjoy the small things in life. We have finally had temperatures above 70 and the humming birds are back. How do I know that? Well I put out the humming bird feeder a couple of weeks ago and have been keeping an eye on it. They came back about a week ago and I spent the weekend watching them. What a life!

Canyon Walk

I am always wanting to take the walk along the canyon in Twin Falls, so we had a little Mother's Day walk yesterday. The canyon is green and pretty right now. I look forward to another one soon.

Quilt Store

I am looking for some cherries on yellow background. I have been collecting cherry fabrics for about a year, but I just need a couple more pieces of yellow. So, I decided I would drive to Wendell Idaho and go The Fat Quarter Quilt Shop. Wendell is about 10 miles from here, and to get to any quilt store, I have to go 10 miles. It is a cute little store on the corner with the stop light. To my disappointment, it wasn't open, but when I looked in the window, they had some cool fabrics. Has anyone else seen the panda/bamboo fabrics? They are so pretty. I don't know if they had any cherries on yellow, but I will probably go back next week anyway.

200 Yards

Look! I finally finished the flip flop quilt. The flip flop blocks were made by the members of my quilting groups. I ran out of quilting thread with about 8 inches to go. I looked at the spool of thread to see how much thread I had used. I was shocked that it was 200 yards. Sometimes I have no common sense. I mean, a football field is 100 yards. No wonder it took so long.

So Sue Me

Scott and Callie have been in 'Guys and Dolls' this week. Scott was Nathan Detroit and had one big song, so here it is. I think he did a great job and that the production was amazing, especially since we do live in the sticks. Moving here has been such a blessing for Scott.

BOM

Calendar Quilt. I am working on a new section.
This is a Debbie Mumm 20th Anniversary BOM, Block #6

This is called Houndstooth and can be found at quilterscache.com.
It is a tessellation pattern and is papered pieced. It makes a pretty
quilt.

And here is the Bunny Hill BOM. I love the chocolate bunny.
